PARTY and FREE DRINK TOKEN!
The Brighton Big Dog is as much about the post race drink as it is the race itself. Each race entry not only comes with a rider goody bag but also a FREE drink token for use at the party afterwards! You'll collect these at the same time as registration. Make sure you don't loose it. The party will once again be held in the excellent Fortune of War, slap bang in the middle of the iconic Brighton seafront.
To get things off to a good start Dark Star Brew Co. will be supplying all the finish line beers too!
Course Highlights.
Brand new T-shirts and Mugs.
There is no finer way of showing your support, or showing you know about one of the finer MTB races, than through the ever popular Morvélo T-shirts and Mugs. Here is the 2011 version, limited to just 70 and will be available only from the Morvélo Stand on the day. The popular mugs, with new colour scheme, will also be available, both for tea and for Dark Star. Make sure you bring extra cash for merchandise and food as there won't be any card facilities on site. If you forget, no problem, the University of Sussex cash machines are a short cycle across a field away.

And for the Top Dog...
A Decade Virsa frame worth £349.99. The kind folks over at Kinesis UK have stepped up and will be offering this great prize to whoever is the winner, be it solo, pairs or teams. If it goes to a pair or team, we'll either instigate a wrestling match or just give it to the fastest person of that pair/team. Wrestling arguably more fun, fastest lap probably the fairest. Either way it's an amazing prize on one worth fighting for.
New Sponsors!
We've been very privileged at the Big Dog to have had some truly fantastic sponsors over the years and this continues for 2011. As well as many names that continue to sponsor us we welcome some fresh faces to the party:
Brighton and Hove's latest bike shop not only stocking top end brands but also importing DeKerf and Baum. They know their onions. Prestige Cycles are providing the custom draw-string bags for all racers which is incredibly generous.
This is was Stephen Roche of Prestige has to say: "We are very excited about becoming partners with the Big Dog event. We feel that this is the type of event that is close to our hearts as it is an event that is run by riders for riders. It’s all about giving something back to the cycling community, so this is why on the day, Prestige Cycles will be offering free bike tune ups/ servicing for any cyclist that is racing in the Big Dog event. On the day we will also have a number of test bikes for people to test ride; we will be bringing some De Kerf bikes and a Yeti demo fleet.
Also we will be bring along some custom ice cream for the event, and not the cheap stuff - gelato!"
Ferrari specialists, Rardley Motors, are giving the Big Dog the "Rardley Motors Piston Cup" which will be awarded to Male Pairs Champions. This will be a truly special and one-off trophy that will be constructed of some genuine Ferrari parts! For those not familiar with Ferrari working they are the number 6 and 7 piston and con rod from a 1970 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Its a 60 degree V12 4390cc. 352bhp @7500rpm. The name of the winning team will be placed on the trophy each year. Worth going fast for we say.

The awesome Osprey will be coming along to the Big Dog and giving away 10 of their excellent Escapist back packs worth £69.99
Strada Wheels, another new local bike business along with Prestige Cycles, will be giving away a pair of Strada Ti MTB QRs at 43g and a pair of Maxxis Aspens.
XT MTB Enduro are giving away 6 entries to the XTM 4hr Enduro, either solo or pair entry. www.xtfestival.co.uk 8th October 2011. Entry cost is £25 so that’s £150 of prizes!
Clif aren't a new sponsor, but a long term sponsor and deserve a special mention as they are giving 600 Clif bars to the Brighton Big Dog to go in each and every rider goody bag. Not only that but they will be there on the day, so once you've tried you bar get over to see them to try some of their excellent Shot Blocs and Shot Gels.
Another long term sponsor Green Oil will be giving away 300 of their sample bottles to the riders and Prestige Cycles will have Green Oil products their for all riders to use. Keep it smooth (and clean).
Quick Energy is an Energy supplement designed to give hours of energy with its unique blend of B-Vitamins and Amino Acid within 15 minutes with proven reduction in perception of pain over the course of a 60 minute cycling workout. With only 5 calories, and no sugar, Quick Energy does not give the insulin spike and associated crash of traditional energy drinks too.
They will be at the Big Dog roaming around with samples as well as adding them into rider goody bags!
Water!
Some kind souls have decided to torch the Stanmer Pavilion which means we no longer have any water supplies.
Can we please stress that you are to bring your own water supplies.
In typical fashion this disaster has happened at the very last moment so we appreciate your understanding.
