Photos from 2012 are starting to come in and you can find them here.
A big thank you once again for all those that took part, helped out and made the day so eventful. We're proud that the Brighton Big Dog goes from strength to strength and it's all down to the people that come along to take in the close racing, great atmosphere and free drinks. See you all next year.
Morvélo Cycle Club is now on Strava and to welcome it in Morvélo are launching a mini comp throughout this years Big Dog. In the spirit of the event and how they see Strava best used - for fun - this will aim to balance the books for all racers.
It will feature two sections of the course. One short sharp climb and one long downhill. To make it fair for all. To be in with a chance of winning some t-shirts and jerseys from Morvélo Bicycle Apparel it'll be the combined time over both sections. Speed is a must. Endurance isn't. If you're a rubbish climber you'll have to make sure you bury it on the decent and vice versa. They'll be a big gap between sections so you can rest up for the next assault!
During your lap make sure you have Strava running. There will be a Morvélo black and white banner at the start and finish of each section so you'll know where they start and finish.
This is the uphill section: http://app.strava.com/segments/1957483
This is the downhill section: http://app.strava.com/segments/1191367
So even if you are out of the running for the top 3 place in each cat, or one lap at full tilt is too much for the OnederDog, the Morvélo Super Sprint will offer up some prizes for those that love short blasts of speed.
*Morvelo nor Brighton Big Dog accept any responsibility if you overcook it. You know your limits. Ride on the edge of them and take care.
Brand new T-shirts and Mugs.
Once again co-organisers Morvélo are back with a fresh t-shirt design for the 4th Annual Big Dog. Also the 2012 mug in a distinctive PINK! will also be available, both for tea and for Dark Star. Make sure you bring extra cash for merchandise and food as there won't be any card facilities on site. If you forget, no problem, the University of Sussex cash machines are a short cycle across a field away.
